Aspen Ladd's journey in combat sports began at 14 years old. She studied boxing, kickboxing and wrestling before she made her first appearance in amateur competition at WCFC in front of Jaimee Nievera. Ladd had an amazing 3 fight winning streak at Ultimate Reno Combat. In each of the three bouts she beat her opponent in the very first round. In WCFC, Ladd defeated Leslie Rodriguez with a unanimous vote. Aspen had already defeated Silvia Baeghian and Maddy Simmons, before taking on Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia beat Aspen to beat her a unanimous vote, leaving the mark of a loss on Aspen's records as an amateur. Ladd rebounded from her loss in the final by beating Roma Pawelek in Tuff-N'-Uff, bringing her record up to 8-1. Aspen was a pro-fighter for the first time in the year 2015, when she signed to Invicta FC. Invicta eleven saw Aspen dominate Ana Carolina Vidal to score a TKO in the first round.
